History

The Northwest Music Teachers Association began in 1983. Eloise Halvorson called area teachers together to discuss starting a local music teacher association. She served as the first president once NMTA's charter was granted.

Through programs and workshops, NMTA seeks to enrich members' teaching proficiency. Our students have the opportunity to participate in Rally. We continue to hold Monster Concerts and they are very successful. Through programs, workshops, and sharing ideas we seek to enrich our teaching proficiency.
