MusicLink
MusicLink Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for promising music students to develop their musical potential through its LessonLink program. Each MusicLink teacher volunteers to teach a nominated student on partial to full scholarship for as long as the child shows an interest in musical study. Group lessons for preschool and beginning instruction may be offered in some communities. Lesson scholarships are offered at three levels, depending on financial need determined by eligibility for school lunch programs. MusicLink assists in providing funding for music, materials, and instruments when necessary.
The MusicLink Foundation & LessonLink Program:
- Establishes collaborative links between school, community programs, professional music teachers, and musicians to develop the musical potential of promising students in financial need who wish to pursue musical study.
- Works with members of professional music teaching organizations, performance groups, community music schools, and music dealers to provide ongoing quality instruction for LessonLink students nominated by their school or community organization. MusicLink coordinators organize local programs, working as a liaison for music organizations, schools, parents, and teachers in the program.
