MTNA Performance Competitions
MTNA Performance Competitions are sponsored by NDMTA. These competitions comply with MTNA requirements and winners may advance to division and national competitions.
- The MTNA Junior Performance Competitions include piano, brass, percussion, string, and woodwind competitions
- The MTNA Senior Performance Competitions include piano, brass, percussion, string and woodwind, and voice competitions
- The MTNA Young Artist Performance Competitions include piano, brass, percussion, string, woodwind, guitar, organ, and voice competitions
- The MTNA Young Artist Chamber Music Performance Competition
- Application forms and requirements are listed in the April/May American Music Teacher
- Entry deadlines for all categories are in early September of each year

MTNA Composition Competitions
MTNA Composition competitions are available for elementary, junior high, high school, and college levels. Winners perform at the state conference and advance to the division level.
Application forms and requirements are listed in the April/May American Music Teacher.
Entry deadlines are in early September of each year.
