Greater Grand Forks MTA History

On November 23, 1965, a group of piano teachers in the Greater Grand Forks area elected officers and adopted a constitution under the name of Greater Grand Forks Piano Teachers Association. The group met once a month to enrich the professional and personal lives of its members.

The organization received a charter from MTNA in July 1980. A charter from NDMTA was received in September 1980. The name was changed to Greater Grand Forks Music Teachers Association.

The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month, September through May. Meetings focus on such topics as music pedagogy, teaching materials, motivation, studio policies, and student performance opportunities.
