Durum Triangle MTA History

The group formed in the fall of 1990. They received their charter from the North Dakota Music Teachers Association in September 1991 and started with six members.

Their first officers were: Kathleen Johnson, President; Verna Schmeiss, Vice President: Lisa Howatt, Secretary/Treasurer; Jean Baid, Publicity Chairman; and Laura McLean, Historian.

Their first rally was held in the spring of 1992. Other activities they have arranged are Honor Recitals, which are held in the spring following Rally, and their Annual Festivals, which center around a theme or composer. They have also held Christmas programs at the local nursing home. They were the 2003 recipient of the MTNA Local Association of the Year Award.

They are currently standing strong with three members!
