History
Durum Triangle MTA formed in the fall of 1990. They received their charter from NDMTA in September 1991 and started with six members. Their first officers were:
| Kathleen Johnson | President |
| Verna Schmeiss | Vice President |
| Lisa Howatt | Secretary/Treasurer |
| Jean Baid | Publicity Chairman |
| Laura McLean | Historian |
Their first Rally was held in the spring of 1992. Other activities include Honor Recitals, which are held in the spring following Rally, and their Annual Festivals, which center around a theme or composer. They have also held Christmas programs at the local nursing home.
Three starting members have since retired. In 2003, Durum Triangle was honored as the MTNA Local Chapter of the Year and was featured in American Music Teacher Magazine. They currently stand strong with three members!
