Bismarck Mandan
Meetings
All professional music teachers are invited to join our organization. Monthly meetings provide in-service training for members and feature motivational speakers, music pedagogy topics, studio policies, and new teaching material. Meetings are generally 9 AM the second Wednesday or Saturday of every month, except January. All guests are welcome. Please contact Warren Granfor, Secretary, for exact times and meeting locations: wgranfor@nd.gov.
Bismarck-Mandan MTA History
BMMTA was established in 1979 under the firm and enthusiastic direction of Josephine Mushik, a long-time MTNA member in Mandan. The organization has a strong membership throughout the years.
Monthly meetings support our mission of professional growth and music education. We have an annual Monster Concert in the fall at Bismarck State College which is open to all music students and teachers in the area. Proceeds from the Monster Concert underwrite our annual student scholarship in May.
We have hosted ten state conventions over the years, most recently the 2008 conference with Scott McBride-Smith. In January of 2007, we hosted the West Central Division Competition on the BSC campus.
BMMTA was the host site of the state competitions October 27-28, 2005.
