We are excited to have our third annual "Celebration of the Steinway" at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in March, 2008. This event will be held in joint partnership with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony's "Linking Music To The Future" education program. We are most appreciative of this collaboration with the Symphony League! We will have several student recitals and are very pleased to offer this wonderful experience to our students and teachers!

History

BMMTA was established in 1979 under the firm and enthusiastic direction of Josephine Mushik, a long time MTNA member in Mandan. The organization has a strong membership throughout its twenty five years. Emphasis has been on professional growth and music education. Monthly meetings support our mission of professional growth and music education. We have an annual Monster Concert in the fall at Bismarck State College which is open to all music students and teachers in the area. The Steinway at the Belle has become an anticipated annual event which underwrites our annual student scholarship in May.

We have hosted nine state conventions over the years, four of those before we were affiliated with the national organization. Most recently was the 2003 conference with Teresa Dybvig of the Taubmann Institute. In October of 2005 we hosted the State Competition on the BSC campus. In January of 2007 we hosted the West Central Division Competition on the BSC campus. In June of 2008 we will host the NDMTA conference.
